A three day First Aid Responder Training course for any personnel or the general public wishing to be trained in first aid for the work place.  An inclusive course leading to Certification at FETAC level 5 - detailed information below. The certificate is valid for 2 years - refresher courses are also available from Frontline Medical.

Who Is This Course Intended For?

Anyone who wishes to become certified as a First Aid Responder in their workplace, club or other setting.  In particular personnel in workplaces such as hotels, restaurants, sports clubs, large employers, forestry, county councils or building contractors.

Course Content

Lesson 1. First aid in the workplace
Lesson 2. Patient assessment
Lesson 3. Respiratory emergencies
Lesson 4. Cardiac first response
Lesson 5. Wounds and bleeding
Lesson 6. Altered level of consciousness
Lesson 7. Musculo-skeletal injuries
Lesson 8. Burns and scalds, chemical poisons and electrical injuries

Course Assessment

Assessment is by question paper and skills demonstration.

Our Instructors

All of our instructors are registered with the OFAAA and Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council.  Our course is run in accordance with HSA guidelines. Full certification is provided on successful completion of the course. FETAC level 5 Certification is valid for two years. Each course is subject to course booking conditions. "This is a comprehensive 3 day FETAC/QQI level 5 certification course which covers all the essential aspects of the Occupational First Aid requirements as outlined in module 5N1207 and was introduced on 1 September 2008. The Occupational First Aid course now includes Cardiac First Responder training in automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and administering aspirin for heart attack patients. The Occupational First Aid Regulations Safety, Health and Welfare at Work General Applications Regulations S.I. No. 299 of 2007. Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007, there is a requirement on employers based on a risk assessment to have a sufficient number of Occupational First Aiders trained and deployed in the workplace.

The course consists of 8 units and includes Cardiac First Responder training in automated external defibrillators (AED’S). Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, participants are presented with an Occupational First Aid Certificate, which is valid for two years."
